Research Data Management is no longer a new or unknown concept to today's researchers, but it can still be daunting. Many universities, institutes, organizations and funding bodies have guidelines, instructions and even policies regarding data management. But that doesn't make it any less scary; indeed, it often adds a complex layer of work and effort to the research activities that produce data. Field- and discipline-specific data come in all sizes and shapes, so specialized knowledge is required to achieve proper Research Data Management. Additionally, the 'FAIR' principles, which have become very important and quite popular in recent years, have also been brought into the picture. Engaging with Researchers in Data Management: A Book of Case Studies has been compiled and prepared by Research Data Alliance (AVB) experts to support and find solutions for all who help researchers understand and find their way around Research Data Management. AVB8 is an international forum that builds social and technical bridges to enable the sharing and reuse of research data. It provides clear solutions to many stakeholders thanks to the outputs developed by Focus Working Groups and Interest Groups. These groups are formed by volunteer experts from around the world and attract members from academia, the private sector, and government. This publication is one such output. The Research Data Libraries Interest Group9 is one of over 85 AVB groups and has published the highly successful 23 Things: Libraries for Research Data10. This deliverable provides an overview of practical, free, online resources and tools you can start using today to incorporate Research Data Management into your librarianship practice. The document is available in twelve languages. A 23 Things program was created and adapted to more than six domain-specific scenarios. The Case Studies Book is another excellent work to emerge from this Interest Group and is a tangible example of the volunteer efforts in the AVB community as well as the Research Data Libraries Interest Group's ongoing contribution to the AVB and the community at large. Cooperation, solidarity and co-creation are hallmarks of the activities of the AVB and the Case Studies Book team. I am grateful to each member of the large team of editors, writers, illustrators, and case study participants for their efforts and expertise. I sincerely hope that; You, the reader, will be inspired, venture further after reading this publication, and if you are a researcher, you will join a community of colleagues who believe that Research Data Management is not only less daunting as is commonly believed, but also a win-win for your career.
