Ian Sarkis mentioned him in the Dictionary of Publications as Jamal al-Din Muhammad bin Najm al-Din Amin bin Abi Bakr bin Dhahira. He said that he was alive in the year 960 AH/1552 AD.

Chapter Nine: Mention of Zamzam: Chapter ten on the princes of Mecca; The conclusion is to mention the places that are desirable to visit in Mecca.
