The copy begins with the interpretation of the Almighty’s Qur’an: “Allah mocks them and causes them to wander blindly in their transgression” (Al-Baqarah/15). It ends with the end of the book and the date of copying. In the margins are the names of the surahs and some different explanations.
On the first sheet, the source of the book, which is the Endowments Library, and the stamp of the public library in Damascus, are recorded as the year 1297 AH.
This copy was mentioned in the previous index of the manuscripts of Dar al-Kutub al-Zahiriyah, Ulum al-Qur’an, by Dr. Azza Hassan.
