As for what follows: some of the investigators of the Hijaz wrote to me that there was a disagreement among the jurists of Mecca regarding the permissibility of demolishing part of the Holy Kaaba, in which it appeared that it was in disrepair and in need of repair, and some experts say, and some say it does not need, and that some of the scholars of Mecca issued a fatwa permitting demolition, and the words of Al-Nawawi and those who follow him are to be interpreted as a recommendation.
