In it, the author dictated forty hadiths from what he had heard on the authority of forty sheikhs, each hadith on the authority of one of the companions. He mentioned its translation and its virtues, and after each hadith he mentioned some of the benefits it contained, explained the strange ones, and followed with approving words.
