Notes It was mentioned in the book that the jurist Al-Saffar was one of the Andalusian immigrants of Tetouan during the days of Sultan Moulay Abdel Rahman. One day the worker of Tetouan asked him to help him in his answers to some of the letters he received from the Sultan. He accepted, and the Sultan appreciated his writing. Then the worker accompanied him on some holidays to Fez, so the Sultan appointed him as a tutor for his children, and when he traveled to Marrakesh, he accompanied him in his carriage so that he could continue teaching the children. The jurist Al-Saffar is the one who handles the marriage contracts of the Sultan and his children. Then the Sultan appointed him to write to the leadership and appointed him to the ministry. When Sultan Moulay Abdel Rahman died in the year 1276 AH, the jurist Al-Saffar took the pledge of allegiance to his son Muhammad. When Sultan Sidi Muhammad died and pledged allegiance to his son Al-Hassan, Al-Saffar approved of his duties, and when Moulay Al-Hassan went to Marrakesh in the year 1298, he took Al-Saffar with him. He was sick, so he was carried on a stretcher. Three days had passed before he died, and the Sultan ordered that he be prepared and prayed over. He was buried inside the Dome of Sidi Youssef, outside Bab Aghmat.
