Notes The author says that he compiled it at the request of the Grand Vizier of the Ottoman Empire, and he prefaces this by referring to the sanctity of the Badrians, I mean the people of Badr, and their virtues, and that they were the best of the Companions after the Noble Ten. He says that what is settled opinion is that the number of their names is three hundred and thirteen, and he narrates about them some noble deities. Then he presents to us their names arranged according to the letters of the dictionary, and he suffices with mentioning the names only without any other reference, and he concludes by mentioning the supplication that is recited after mentioning their names in turn. For their blessing.
