Abu Bastam is Shu`bah ibn al-Hajjaj ibn al-Ward al-Atki al-Wasiti al-Basri, Abu Bastam, one of the imams of the men of hadith who died in Basra in the year 160 AH. The message is a narration by Abu Muhammad Abd al-Rahman ibn Ahmad ibn Abi Shurayh, which contains information from the translation of Shu`bah and Amr ibn Murrah.
