Notes
Its author presented it as a gift to Sultan Mawla Abdul Hafiz, hoping that he would accept his gift and grant its organizer “what the generosity and benevolence of our Lord require.” It is a long system, mentioning Salé and its plans, and what distinguished it in terms of architecture, civilization, industry, and power, then describing its people, their nature and number, then mentioning its scholars, and the book concludes with a poem in which the author responds to Ibn al-Khatib regarding what he mentioned about Salé in his book “The Rihanna of the Book” and his preference over Malaga and the Jazira.
