Notes The card appeared without a title in the printed index, but in its place was the phrase “A book without a title.” The saying is attributed to Sidi Muhammad Al-Arabi bin Jar. It consists of three sections, the first part of which (which is located in 37 pages) deals with the talk about ancient Sijilmasa, the beauty of its plans, and how its people invited Mawla Qasim bin Muhammad bin Abi Al-Qasim to settle there, and there he followed his son Al-Hasan, and prosperity and happiness descended upon it. When the Christians besieged Granada in Andalusia, its leaders wrote to the city of Fez, and to Sijilmasa for the sake of jihad, and especially to Mawla Ali Al-Sharif and his companion and successor, Sidi Muhammad bin Ibrahim bin Omar bin Al-Mansur, and when their distress increased, they decided to pledge allegiance to Mawla Ali Al-Sharif, so they wrote to Sidi Muhammad bin Ibrahim, asking for his intercession for Mawla Ali, and the scholars of Fez supported them, so they wrote in the same sense to Sidi Muhammad to intercede with Mawla Ali, and then the writer sympathizes with the reign of Sultan Mawla Ismail the Great, and how souls were reassured by his appearance, and Muslims felt pride and dignity, and the plague of infidels with shame and humiliation. The second section deals with the origin and lineage of Mawla Ali al-Sharif, his son, Mawla al-Hasan, their descendants, and their descendants. It consists of eleven pages. The third section includes two poems, the first composed by Sidi Ahmed bin Masoud Al-Barawi in praise of Al-Sharif, and the second composed by Abu Faris bin Abi Al-Rabi’ as a tribute to the Mujahideen of Sijilmasa and Mawla Ali Al-Sharif.
