And the knowledge of fundamentals was of great value... And among the best of what he wrote in it for the beginner were papers... Abu Al-Ma’ali Al-Juwayni... So I wanted to write an explanation of it that would be closer to the beginner’s understanding, and would have its share available to the finished one, and I called it “Derivations of Al-Waraqat.”
