Notes The author, Al-Aidarus, is Abu Al-Fadl Wajih Al-Din Abdul Rahman bin Mustafa bin Zain Al-Abidin bin Abdullah, Al-Shafi’i, Al-Husseini, Al-Yamani. He grew up, read, and traveled to India in the year 1153 with his father, and stayed in India for a while, then he went to Mecca and visited Taif, then he came to Egypt and settled there, and its people welcomed him. He came to Damascus in the year 1182 AH, and stayed in the house of Hussein Al-Muradi, and he honored him and did good. He stayed in Damascus, and his days in Damascus were seasons of joy. He only stayed there for a short time, and returned to Egypt. In the year 191 AH, he traveled to the Roman lands and entered Constantinople. He became respected and popular there, and some relations were arranged for him in Egypt and elsewhere. He returned from the sea side, and left the coast of Sidon. He was received by its governor, Minister Ahmed Pasha al-Jazzar, and returned to Egypt. During his stay in Cairo, he made numerous trips to Upper Egypt and to Tantada. (Tanta), Damietta, Rosetta, Alexandria and Dayrut. He performed Hajj seventeen times. Among his works: Tariwih al-Bulbal - a collection of poetry. - The collection of Al-Aidarus called (Tanqiq Al-Asfar regarding what happened to him with the Brothers of Literature in some travels), followed by the collection called Tanqiq Al-Safar. What happened to him and him in Egypt, appending that with a nice appendix that included some of the correspondence he wrote to him after his return from Egypt to the Two Holy Mosques.
