The origin of the author is from Amed (Diyar Bakr). He was born there in the year 551 AH/1156 AD and studied in Baghdad and the Levant. He moved to Cairo where he studied there and became famous. He was accused of the corruption of his faith and the doctrine of the philosophers, so he went to Aleppo and then returned to Damascus and died there. Among his works are: The Early Thoughts, The End of Questions, Bab al-Lubab, Al-Ahkam fi Usul Al-Ahkam, Minutes of Realities, and others.
