Notes
A book in which the writer narrates what happened during the illness of Sultan Mawla Abd al-Rahman bin Hisham, since Eid al-Adha in the year 1275 AH. The Sultan was residing at that time in Muknasa al-Zaytoun, until his death at the end of Muharram in the year 1276 AH. Two serious incidents occurred during this short period, the first being the Spanish building a tower in the Moroccan no man’s land adjacent to Ceuta, and the outbreak of war between the Spaniards and the Moroccans, the people of this region, and the second what happened following the death of Sultan Abd al-Rahman bin Hisham. Al-Rahman and the pledge of allegiance to his son, Sultan Muhammad, at the hands of scholars and elders, from Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Mawla Suleiman declaring the revolution, claiming kingship for himself, mobilizing his supporters and marching with them on the capital, Fez, then the failure of the movement and the arrest of its leader, al-Mawla Abd al-Rahman, and the pursuit of his supporters, and Sultan Muhammad’s entry into the city of Meknes in peace and security, and his residence there for a period of time.
