Notes
A book in which the author discusses the virtues of the imams of Sharia law at all times, according to the order of their existence, and according to their deaths. He has devoted each century to the biographies of its imams. He begins by talking about the imams of the four schools of thought, their sermons, and their writings. Then he tells us about the notables of Malik’s school of thought from the second century AH until his era (the thirteenth century), then he follows that by talking about famous grammarians, grammarians, linguists, readers, interpreters, and hadith scholars, and this part is labeled. At the end of it, it is the first half (the first part) of the book, “followed at the beginning of the second part by famous Sufis,” but this second part has not reached us.
