The beginning of the third part: Surah Al-Ma’idah: Medinan except “Today I have perfected for you your religion,” for it was revealed in Mecca on the eve of Arafat, and this Surah has one hundred and twenty verses in the number of Al-Kufi, one hundred and twenty-two in the number of Al-Hijazi, and one hundred and twenty-three in the number of Al-Basri, “For indeed you will be victorious” Al-Basri enumerated them, “Fulfill the contracts” and “He pardons many” that Al-Kufi left them, and the heads of its verses are the Lām, the Mīm, the Nūn, the Dāl, the Bā’ and the Rā’, collected by our Sheikh in “Lām ad-Dabār.”
