Notes
The manuscript is Sheikh Abu Bakr al-Hamawi’s explanation of his famous innovation known as Introduction to Abu Bakr. In its introduction, its conclusion is stated: The author of the collections of collections, Muhammad ibn al-Barazi al-Juhani, agreed in Damascus on the innovation of Izz al-Din al-Mawsili, in which he committed to naming the genre innovation and narrated it from the genre of ghazal, in order to distinguish it from Sheikh Safi al-Din al-Hilli, who did not adhere to that in his innovation. However, Izz al-Din was mostly satisfied with naming the genre and did not express the name. So al-Barazi wrote to Ibn Hajjah by composing a poem in keeping with al-Hilli, so Ibn Hajjah composed it following al-Safi by naming the genre faq. I will precede him because he took Al-Barazi’s opinion. The author of the disclosure stated that he quoted from Ibn Hajar’s handwriting on the back of a copy of the Treasury the following: “It is a collection of literature that is rare to find in others, and perhaps its possessor will dispense with other literary books, even if it contains only the quality of evidence for each type, in addition to what distinguishes it from citing a large number of contemporary anecdotes, for his work is higher than the cost of bare goods, and this alone is intended for every skilled person.” The Treasury contains one hundred and forty-three verses, including thirty Sunnah types of Al-Badi’, with useful explanations. The manuscript is corrected. Leave a 5 cm margin with the addresses of corrections and comments. On the first page is a translation by Ibn Hajjah.
