Notes A poem in praise of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, containing the arts of Al-Badi’ mentioned in the book Al-Talkhis. He says in its introduction: “... each verse of which includes a type of the exquisite, limited to what was mentioned in the summary... as it was limited to the exalted and sublime, and I began it by mentioning the verbal types, and followed it with the moral, and its principle is good disposition and its end is a good conclusion. The manuscript is located in five pages, followed by others containing the words of some of the famous scholars of the Levant in evaluating the manuscript: the first by Muhammad al-Jabi, and the second by Emir Abd al-Qadir al-Jaza’iri, dated 1295. The third is by Mahmoud al-Hamzawi, the Mufti of Damascus, and the fourth is by Sheikh Ahmed bin Muslim al-Kuzbari, and the last is written by Sheikh Muhammad al-Tantawi. This is followed by verses composed by the writer Sheikh Muhammad al-Khamash al-Nabulsi in his commentary. He left a 5-cm-wide margin with explanations of al-Badi’i’s art and useful comments written in a different handwriting.
