He compiled it as an explanation of the preamble to Al-Misbah fi Grammar by Imam Nasser bin Abd al-Sayyid al-Matrazi (610 AH). This is because when some of his loved ones read it to him, he wanted to record notes on it, jokes, and so on, so that it would benefit the students who wanted to study it and achieve what he had hoped for from the commentary. He left a margin (4.75 cm) wide with many comments, explanations, and corrections.
