Notes
A fragment from an author whose title and author are unknown. It contains a long summary of the origin of the Berbers, and their division into two great origins, the Prince and the Madaghsin, each of which includes many clans. Among them were the Banu Ziri kings of Africa and the Almoravids. Among them were Kutama, which ruled over the Ubaidites in Morocco, and Ghamara, which ruled over the Idrisids. There is a saying that Sanhaja and Kutama were from Himyar. The piece also contains a summary of the history of Sijilmasa and its plans since the second century. From the Hijra (folios: 18-22) and another overview of the beginning of the Alawite state, and the mandates of its kings from Prince Muhammad bin Al-Sharif until Moulay Muhammad bin Yusuf in the year 1346 AH (folios 4 and 5).
