Ibn Hisham says, explaining the reason for his explanation of the conclusion: Because it was excessively brief, like riddles, he assisted his students with an explanation that solved its words, clarified its meanings, resolved its constructions, and revised its premises, thus purifying its meanings and suspending its strays. He did not leave the issue of who witnessed and represented it, and perhaps indicated in it a disagreement, criticism, or justification. He put his effort into clarifying and refining it, and perhaps he disagreed with Ibn Malik in some of the details and arrangements. As he mentioned in the sermon on the book, he left a margin (4 cm wide) with explanations and comments.
