Notes The glorious commentary on the Muwatta of Imam Muhammad (commentary on the Muwatta of Imam Malik bin Anas, narrated by Muhammad bin Al-Hasan Al-Shaybani). It was compiled in: Hyderabad. The copyist wrote the text of the book ((Al-Muwatta)) in Naskh script and wrote its explanation in the Indian Nastaliq script, all in black ink in general, and used red ink to write the titles and words: ((He told us)) and (He said) in the text of ((Al-Muwatta)), and he wrote some words such as: ((From it)) and (I said) and the titles and other things in clear black in the introduction to the commentator in the papers (1 - 26b) Appendix at the beginning. The first includes an index of the contents of the copy, filling pages (27a-30b). Transcribed by: See: Brockelmann 1/175 and its appendix 1/297.
Sample Text And then, Abduh al-Raji says: His strong forgiveness is the source of evil deeds and the storehouse... He is known as Abu al-Hasanat, called Abd al-Hay al-Lakhnawi, the son of our master, Hajj al-Hafiz Muhammad Abd al-Halim, may God bring him into the abode of bliss: It is no secret to those of understanding that the best science is knowledge of the Sunnah and the Book, and that the best deeds are to serve them and spread their secrets, and my heart was often stirred to explain a book in detail in Hadith.
