In the footnotes are some sub-headings, the first of which is a copy of a fatwa on sales by the Sheikh of Islam in Tripoli, Sayyid Hibatullah Effendi, and a copy of a fatwa on sales also by Abd al-Rahman al-Amadi, the Mufti of Damascus.

As for what follows, the most honorable and highest of all sciences... and the most fulfilling of them is the science of jurisprudence and fatwa, and with it is the well-being of this world and the afterlife... And “Kanz al-Daqa’iqa’” by Imam Hafez al-Din al-Nasafi is the best compendium written in the jurisprudence of the Hanafi imams, and they provided explanations for it, and the best of them is al-Tabin is by Imam al-Zayla’i, but he went on at length in mentioning the controversies and did not disclose its text… and I called it “The Clear Sea Explanation of Kanz al-Daqaa’i’.”
