Notes
The author states in the introduction that the book is translated from Al-Qushji’s treatise with the addition of other benefits taken from well-regarded books. It contains a commentary, and at the end there are astronomical quantities and dimensions. In the gift, Al-Baghdadi attributed a Turkish treatise in al-Hay’ah to Ali bin al-Hussein al-Ghalatawi and called it “Mirror of Beings.” The name found in the manuscript is: “Khalisat al-Hay’ah,” so it is possible that the name was a distortion of the copyist, and God knows best what is correct.
