Notes
This version includes a piece of interpretation that begins with a chapter on metaphor. It is a large and comprehensive interpretation, about which Al-Maqrizi said: It contains seventy volumes, and Al-Suyuti mentioned that it contains 100 volumes. The author was born in the year 611 AH/1214 AD in Jerusalem. He was originally from Balkh. He moved to Cairo and read in some of its schools. He returned to Jerusalem and died there. An interpreter from the Hanafi jurists, he was an ascetic scholar from whom Al-Barzali, Abu Shama, and Al-Dhahabi heard from his works: his great interpretation.
