Praise be to God, and prayers and peace be upon the Messenger of God. Know that the rational ruling is limited to three categories: obligation, impossibility, and permissibility. Obligatory is what the mind cannot conceive of its nonexistence, impossible is what the mind cannot conceive of its existence, and permissible is what the mind can confirm its existence or nonexistence.
