Notes I said: He was alive before the year 853 AH because the author dedicated this book to Ulugh Beg bin Shah Rukh al-Samarqandi, who died in the year 853 AH (Brockelmann 212/2 and his appendix 298/2). Ubayd Allah ibn Masoud ibn Taj al-Sharia Mahmoud al-Mahboubi, who died in the year 747 AH, compiled the book Tanqih al-Usul and explained it in the book al-tawḥīḥ fi solving the mysteries of al-tanqīḥ, and al-Taftazānī wrote al-Talawih fi revealing the facts of al-tanqīḥ in the year 758 AH and al-tawḥrh Sharh al-tnaqih, and this appears to be another explanation of the book al-tawḥir by Ubayd Allah ibn Masoud. The text was mostly written in black ink, and the copyist used red ink to write “he said,” “I say,” the titles, and so on, and left a number of blanks in it. The author dedicated this book to Sultan Ulug Bey al-Samarkandi. Copied: This copy was described in the Aligarh Catalog 171/2, descriptive catalogue, with the same number. Library name: Habib Kanj.
Sample Text The most noble of sciences, the most complete in status and honour, the most accurate knowledge and the most truthful in terms of structure and paths to the foundations of jurisprudence, which includes what is reasonable and what is transmitted, leading to the deduction of the rulings of the Sharia in the manner of investigation from the principles, even if the book Al-Talawih is by the investigating professor... Maulana Saad Al-Millah wal-Din Al-Taftazani.
