Dr. Salah al-Din al-Nahi set out to study a group of the works of Abu al-Layth al-Samarqandi, and he devoted himself to verifying and publishing them, with the title: Jurisprudential works by Imam al-Huda, the jurist Abu al-Layth Nasr ibn Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Ibrahim al-Samarqandi: one of the Hanafi jurists from Transoxiana in the fourth century AH, from which he appeared. The first volume deals with “The Treasury of Jurisprudence and the Eyes of Issues”: (Baghdad 1965), and the second volume: “The Eyes of Issues”: (Baghdad 1967). He said in his introduction to the first volume (p. 7): “...There is a third book by this author, which is like an introduction, and by it I mean: The Treasury of Jurisprudence, because this book is a summary of jurisprudence, with which he intended to bring jurisprudence closer to the minds of everyone, both the learned and the ignorant, that is, an explanation of the rulings of jurisprudence that every Muslim cannot do without). Al-Nahi, in his introduction to “The Treasury of Jurisprudence”: (pp. 7-67). Abd al-Hamid al-Aluji had written an extensive study, entitled (The Works of Abu al-Layth al-Samarqandi): (Al-Aqlam Magazine) 3 [Baghdad - May 1967] vol. 9, pp. 44-52), in which he discussed the translation of Abu al-Layth and his works, their written copies, and the reasons for their existence. It was said about the author’s death that he died in the year 375 It was said in 383 AH and it was said in 393 AH, and the conclusion follows: “The book “The Treasury of Jurisprudence” was completed according to the doctrine of the greatest Imam Abu Hanifa al-Nu’man bin Thabit, may God be pleased with him. It was written by the learned Sheikh and Imam... Abu al-Layth Nasr bin Muhammad bin Ahmed bin Ibrahim al-Samarqandi, may God bless him... “This is followed by a speech in the translation of Abu Hanifa from a handwritten copy in the Yeni Jameh Library in Istanbul (No. 677). On the margins of the copy there are many comments written in commentary script. The title page is very precise, and on another page it is written: “This is an index of what is in it.”
