Sample Text	Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful, Owner of the Day of Judgment, who created man from clay, and made his descendants a race of dishonorable water, then formed him and breathed [breathed] into him of His Spirit... More than one of the early and late ones wrote an explanation of the Qur’an, its meanings, its parsing, and its constructions, and each one of them mentioned in his rulings what he had attained to his knowledge, and perhaps his saying agrees with our saying, or perhaps it contradicts it, so I saw that the evidence for the validity of his saying was Abu Abdullah Muhammad. Ibn Idris Al-Shafi’i Al-Muttalabi, cousin of the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family. He came to explain what we must know of the rulings of the Qur’an, and this was dispersed in his books classified on principles and rulings, so I distinguished it and collected it in these parts in the form of a summary, so that it would be easier for those who wanted it to ask for it.
