Notes They are verses of vocabulary that are represented, selected by poets from different eras. It was chosen, collected, and arranged according to the alphabet by Sheikh Muhammad Shukri al-Makki, a resident of Cairo who died after the year 1322 (see Diwan Jaran al-Oud). He said in his introduction: “This is a collection of unique verses and a collection of benefits in which certain verses have been proven...” It is as if the copy is a draft of the book's collector.
