Notes
The two honors referred to in the title are the honor of clear knowledge and the honor of lofty lineage. The author divided his book into two parts: the first on the virtue of knowledge and scholars, and the second on the virtue of the Prophet’s family and their high honor. The first section includes three sections: the first is about presenting evidence that indicates the virtue of knowledge and scholars, the second is about the origin of hostility toward them and other honorable Ahl al-Bayt, and the third is about the etiquette of scholars and educated people. The second section deals with the virtue of the Prophet’s Ahl al-Bayt, and includes fifteen mentions. It talks about what God revealed regarding their purification and that they are the best of creation, and what the Prophet revealed by praying for them and choosing them, and urging the nation to adhere to the book of their Lord and their Ahl al-Bayt, and that they are safety for the nation, and what the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, promised, that his family would not be tortured or enter Hell, and his call, may God bless him and grant him peace, to bless the descendants of the virgin, then he mentioned the hadiths contained. In urging love for them and the obligation of showing affection to them, and that visiting Banu Hashim is obligatory, he mentioned what the predecessors were accustomed to respecting and venerating them, then he mentioned the pure etiquette required of them. This book was mentioned or found in: Brockelmann: S. II. 223_ G.II. 174. And the Egyptian House of Books 5271 history.
