A copy within a group, the copyist wrote the text generally in black ink, and used red ink to write the titles and the word ((chapter)) and ((hadith)) and so on, on a newly made ink. The last of which is an entry corresponding to this copy by Muhammad Abd al-Hay, on a copy copied from the author’s draft, dated Dhul-Hijjah in the year 1291 AH. (Praise be to God, the Creator of creations, the Master of newly invented matters, and the Master of tongues and languages...) As for what follows, the knowledge of hadith is one of the most noble sciences and the most deserving of what those with pure souls desire, and the most deserving of what the possessor of pure desire has mastered, from the collection of its pure sciences and the beneficiaries of its sections. It is required to know what is found in its content of the obscure names, for it entails many benefits that are known to the people of providence.
