Notes
Amr bin Ubaid divided the Noble Qur’an for him into parts according to the number of days in the year (360), and wrote them out in copies of the Qur’an, and made every twelve of these parts into a part, and put a line of gold between each part, and abolished fifths and tenths, so he memorized a part every day, so he memorized the Qur’an in a year. This copy is photoshopped from an old copy. The author was born in the year 80 AH/699 AD, a theologian, interpreter, and scholar. He was close to Abu Jaafar al-Mansur in Baghdad and elsewhere. He died in Bahran near Mecca and was mourned by al-Mansur. Among his works are: a book of interpretation on the authority of al-Hasan al-Basri, a response to al-Qadariyya, a book on justice and monotheism.
Sample Text
Sheikh Abu Bakr Muhammad bin Ali Al-Muqri told us... Al-Hussein told us... I was informed that Abu Jaafar Al-Mansur said to Amr bin Ubaid, may God have mercy on him: O Amr, I love to memorize the Qur’an. Amr said: Why don't you go ahead and make sure of that? He said: How long do you think I can memorize it? He said: If God makes it easy and you take care of it in a year. He said: I would like to divide this into parts for myself, neither more nor less, and I memorize a part of it every day
