Notes The interpretation began with Surat Al-Ankabut. It contains the names of the surahs in the margin, up to Surah Amma only, followed by the book Al-Rusukh fi Ilm al-Nasikh wa al-Mansukh, dictated by Abu Mansur Abd al-Qadir bin Tahir Muhammad al-Baghdadi. He received a copy of an authentic copy in the month of Al-Hijjah in the year 1081 AH. Immediately following the manuscript is the sixth sixth, and begins with the beginning of Surat Al-Dukhan until the end of the Qur’an, Surat Al-Nas, in which it is mentioned that he received a scrap of an authentic copy in the month of Safar in the year 1082 AH. This sixth book begins at the beginning of folio 120 with a different handwriting, at the end of which he carefully said Al-Hasan bin Saleh Al-Zayla’i, that is, the writer and owner of the fifth book.
Sample Text Surat Al-Ankabut, which is sixty-nine verses. In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. “Have people not thought that they would be forsaken to say, ‘We believe?’” He reckoned in the sense of “suspicion,” and reckoning is not valid except for two things.
