Notes It is a comprehensive and comprehensive translation by Sheikh al-Islam al-Hafiz Shihab al-Din Abi al-Fadl Ahmad bin Ali bin Hajar al-Asqalani, who died in the year 852 AH/1448 AD. Written by his beloved student, Al-Hafiz Shams Al-Din Al-Sakhawi, in his introduction he talks about the quality of the Hafiz and the Preserver, and when it is correct to bestow this title on the scholar, and he cites various opinions on that. Then he talks in the first chapter about Ibn Hajar, his lineage, and his birth in the year 773 AH/1371 AD, and in the second chapter he talks about his upbringing and studies and those from whom he learned, and they are a great many, and in the third chapter he talks about the imams’ praise of him from the sheikhs and peers, and in it he lists several poems of praise. In his right, and in the fourth he talks about his councils and scholarly functions of teaching, fatwas, sheikhdom, judiciary, and other things, and in the fifth he talks about his books and what he wrote from them, and in the sixth he presents to us examples of his eloquent speech in verse and prose, and what he directed of that to the notables of his time, and what they directed to him about that, and in the seventh he talks about his food, drink, clothing, and way of life, and in the eighth he talks about those from whom he studied and narrated, and they are a large group that he arranges according to the letters of the dictionary, and he tells us In the ninth chapter, he talks about his illness and death, his venerable scene, and the place of his burial. Then, in the tenth chapter, some of the elegies of the writers of the era are mentioned about him. This book was mentioned or found in: Brockelmann:. 73. G.II. 68.S.II. And the National Library of Paris 2105 history. There is a photocopy of it in the Egyptian House of Books 4768 History.
