Praise be to God, the Powerful, the Omnipotent... Discussion of narration occurs in three circumstances: the first in the Hereafter, the second in this world, in wakefulness, and the third in a dream. There has been disagreement over its permissibility in the three circumstances. As for narration in the Hereafter, there is disagreement among our companions, the Sunnis, and between the Mu’tazilites, the Kharijites, and some Murji’ites.
