After the preamble, he mentioned the sciences of the Qur’an, which are many, in which he mentioned eight. After the samla, praise be to God who guided us to Islam and called us to the abode of peace, and bestowed upon us through our Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, and bestowed upon us various kinds of blessings... As for what follows: the first thing a person should be preoccupied with is seeking religious knowledge, through which he will attain victory and salvation.
