In the first of them are two verses composed by Taha Effendi Shawafzadeh from a book he wrote for the representative of Basra in the Shuyoukh market, and at that time Habib Effendi Al-Kurdi [Al-Karwi] was a teacher in the Kasbah of our master Al-Zubayr - may God bless him and grant him peace - and they are: In the bright Basra, I have companions *** And in the land of Zubayr we have a lover, and in the Shuyukh market we have a place *** And in Baghdad the hearts left behind Sheikh Taha Al-Shawaf bin Abdul-Razzaq Al-Shawaf, a distinguished scholar who worked. He issued fatwas and taught, and served as a judge in Basra for a long time. He was an eloquent poet. He died on Safar 14, 1328 AH (1910 AD) and was buried in the town of Al-Zubayr.

Praise be to God who guided the creation of this style.. This is a strange book, in a strange setting, wonderfully made, pleasant in meaning, and beautifully constructed. No Qurayha has ever heard of its example, nor has any weaver weaved in its pattern, in a science that I have not previously arranged, nor have I advanced to refine. It is the foundations of grammar, which are in relation to grammar what the foundations of jurisprudence are in relation to jurisprudence, even if it falls into the miscellaneous words of some authors and is dispersed throughout the books of compilers, then collecting and arranging it is the work of an inventor, and its rooting and classification is the same.
