So strive to defeat the enemy... “except against a people” among them “among you.” And between them there is a covenant (a treaty), for it is not permissible to break their covenant with victory over them... (And God is Ever Seeing of what you do.) So do not disobey his command so that his punishment may not befall you. “And those who disbelieved are allies of one another” another “of them” meaning of them, meaning in inheritance or in support between them and the Muslims.
