Abu Marwan wrote this book for the Almohad Caliph Abd al-Mu'min ibn Ali, and made it into two parts: the first part is about preserving health, and the second describes the syrups, pastes, and ointments suitable for treating the diseases and symptoms that occur in the body. The first volume is from pages 286 to 342, and the second volume is from pages 1 to 103.

Praise be to God, to whom... everything the senses fall upon, and to whom I bear witness to oneness and power, and may God’s blessings be upon Muhammad al-Murtada, and may his companions be pleased with him, and peace be upon the infallible Mahdi, and the highest command of his successor, the Commander of the Faithful... And then I said with compliance /words destroyed by earth/ and I will begin that, God willing, in a way that preserves health.
