Notes Euclid of Tyre: Greek mathematical philosopher, who lived in Egypt around 280 BC. AD during the era of King Ptolemy Lagos. He became a teacher at the Alexandria School and wrote books on structure and optics, his most famous book being Geometric Principles. Al-Hajjaj bin Yusuf al-Kufi and Abu al-Hasan Thabit bin Qara al-Harrani (d. 288 AH) translated it into Arabic. In its margins there are explanations and comments.
Sample Text Praise be to God, from whom is the beginning and to whom is the end, and with whom are the truths of information, and in whose hand is the kingdom of things, and whose blessings are upon Muhammad, his family, and the pure ones. After I finished editing the Almagest, I decided to edit the book Fundamentals of Geometry and Arithmetic attributed to Euclid of Tyre. Briefly and unobtrusively, I will investigate the various purposes of it in a non-tedious manner, and I will add to it what is appropriate for it, which I have taken from the books of the people of this knowledge, and I have deduced it with my own understanding, and I confirm what is found from the original book in the copy of Al-Hajjaj and Thabit.
