After the Basmala and the Hamdala: As for what follows, the weak servant Ahmad al-Saleh ibn Ahmad ibn Muhammad al-Qari ibn al-Sheikh says: When I came across the explanation that Misbah al-Zaman, the verified Sheikh, Sheikh al-Islam and the aim of the most eminent people, our Sheikh Sayyid al-Mukhtar Ali ((Tuhfat al-Mawdud fi al-Maqsoor wa al-Mamdudu)) had put together, he woke me up from a state of heedlessness and laziness with his elegant sayings and his superior words...and my heart was comforted by it because of the refining, diversification and inscription it contains.
