Its beginning of poetry is the fifth of the poem by Abu al-Fath al-Basti, who died in the year 400 AH. Its beginning is: A person’s increase in his worldly life is a decrease. *** His remembrance other than the remembrance of God is forgetfulness, and his gain other than piety of God is a decrease. *** And his gain other than pure goodness is a loss. Its end is a rhyme whose beginning is: The poor man said, “Pregnant.” Al-Awzar*** Muhammad, famous as the carpenter.
