His saying: The addition is pure, that is, intangible, and it is what is added to its direct object, either in that it is not an adjective, such as Zayd’s servant, or it is an adjective, but not added to its direct object, like the one who broke the heavens, because the active participle does not work if it is in the sense of the past. If it does not have an active direct object, how can it be added to its direct object?
