This volume, and the three that follow it, are from an original book whose volumes reached twenty volumes but was not completed (Kashf al-Zunun, Part 1, Column 179), and a manuscript copy of it in twenty volumes already exists in Istanbul (Asher Effendi Library). This first volume contains the following materials: The lineage of Ould Adnan, the lineage of Banu Hashim Ibn Abd Manaf, the mission of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, his conquests, his convoys, his wives and loyalists, his clothing, his horses, his weapons, and his muezzins, the matter of the Battle of Nahrawan, the matter of Ali Ibn Abi Talib after Nahrawan, the matter of Ibn Muljim and his companions, and the killing of Ali Ibn Abi Talib, the matter of Hussein Ibn Ali Ibn Abi Talib, the departure of Hussein Ibn Ali from Mecca to Kufa, the killing of Hussein Ibn Ali, the news of Muhammad Ibn al-Hanafiyyah, Ibn al-Zubayr and Abd al-Malik Ibn Marwan, the affairs of Abbas Ibn Abd al-Muttalib Ibn Hashim and his son. Professors Pinto and Dellavid translated the section on the caliphate of Muawiyah into Italian. This book was mentioned in:
