Notes
They are three poems in which the word (al-khal) is repeated in all of their rhymes. The first poem is in 13 verses, and its beginning is: To the one who wandered, I saw him, desolate and empty *** The voice of Khali insisted on him, and the second poem is also in 13 lines, and it is chanted by Abu Abbas Thalab, and its beginning is: Do you know the ruins of your sorrows with the uncle *** And the living of a time that was in the empty era. The third poem was composed by Abu al-Tayyib Abd al-Wahid ibn Ali, the Al-Halabi linguist, who died in the year 351. Its beginning is: He felt a quarter of the house that Anisa *** despite his nose for amusement was deserted by Dhu al-Khal.
