Chapter of the first forty hadiths: The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: “There are four jewels of the children of Adam that can be removed by four things; As for the essences, they are reason, religion, modesty, and good deeds. Anger removes reason, adultery removes religion, greed removes modesty, and anger removes good deeds. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said, “The scholars among my nation are like salt in food, just as there is no pleasure in food except with salt, and the nation is not reformed except with scholars.”
