In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful: The learned Sheikh and Imam Shams al-Din Muhammad ibn Khalil ibn Abi Bakr Muhammad al-Halabi al-Shafi’i, known as Ibn al-Qabaqi al-Qudsi, said... As for what follows, when I saw my book called Majma’ al-Surur and Matla’ al-Badur, which brings together the sects of the fourteen reciters, it was widely mentioned among the students… It occurred to me to write a book that decodes its symbols, scatters its arrangements, and makes it easy for those who memorize it to understand it.
