The author arranged the book with an introduction in which he mentioned fourteen of the reasons that necessitate compounding when there is a need for a single medicine that fulfills all of its needs, and the reasons for the lack of effect of medicines in treatment. He also mentioned seven reasons for the difference in the weights of medicines. After that, he began with the chapters of his book, which he made into 19 chapters, which are: Chapter One: On syrups, Chapter Two: On syrups and pastes, Chapter Three: On pills, Chapter Four: On cooked foods, Chapter Five: On injections, Chapter Six: On vomiting medications, Chapter Seven: On pills, Chapter Eight: On tablets, Chapter Nine: On ointments, Chapter Ten: On sulfates, Chapter eleven: On bandages, coatings, and poultices, Chapter 12: On sulfates and gauze, Chapter Thirteen: On medications for others, Chapter Fourteen: On toothpicks, Chapter fifteen: On glue, Chapter sixteen: On nannies, Chapter seventeen: On snuffs and nuggets, Chapter eighteen, on Al-Natalat, Chapter Nineteen: On hair medicines.
