Notes
The author arranged his book according to the letters of the dictionary, intending to arrange the book “The Calendar of Countries” by Abu Al-Fida, and he published it with chapters in which he mentioned the seas, oceans, lakes, rivers, mountains, regions (real and customary), and the sphericity of the Earth. The first article in the letter Alif relates to Absukon, “and the last article in the letter Yaa is (yengi kent).” In the margin of the copy are footnotes and comments, and on the second and third pages is an index of the book’s topics. Copies of this manuscript are available in (British Museum Library, No. A.D.D. 7505. See Journal of the Institute of Arabic Manuscripts, vol. 17, vol. 2, p. 222).
Sample Text
Blessed is He who made constellations in the sky... And then, the poor servant says to the Giver of Happiness, Muhammad bin Ali, known as Sibahizadeh, that all the people of the laws and religions have agreed, and the majority of the masters of minds and religions have agreed that the highest of human words... is the knowledge of the Creator in sanctifying himself... and that this is by thinking about created things and their secrets.
